It doesn’t get much better than a wine and cheese party with our Specialty Cheese and Adult Beverage buyers! Congratulations to our lucky Wine & Cheese Party winner, Karen Wilkie of Sacramento! Karen, along with her family and friends, enjoyed a Spanish-themed evening of wine and cheese tasting on Friday. Guests tasted a selection of several wines and cheeses along with delicious accompaniments, while our experts educated them on wine and cheese pairings, flavor profiles and more! A great time was had by all, and we were pleased to be able to celebrate the event in conjunction with Karen’s birthday! Happy Birthday Karen, and thank you to all who entered!

For his college senior project back in 2003, Ken Muller researched and planted an olive orchard on his family’s land. Today, father and son team Joe and Ken continue to grow Copper Hill Olives on their small family farm in Yolo County, where the sustainably grown olive trees thrive in the coppery, hillside soil and Mediterranean climate. To ensure ultimate quality and freshness, the olives are hand-harvested and pressed within hours of picking, and all Copper Hill olive oils are extra virgin with delightful flavors that make them perfect for dipping, for salad dressings, and for use in every type of healthy cooking.
Since 1999, Michael and Monica Keller’s life goal has been to produce and distribute the best quality local olive oils possible. Calolea’s products include extra virgin olive oil, crushed citrus oils, and 12- and 18-year aged balsamics, straight out of Northern California.
Olives are nothing new to the Lucero family, as they’ve been growing these gems in Northern California for three generations and lay claim to some of the oldest olive trees in the region. While Dewey Lucero started the family-owned and operated business in 2005, his grandfather began producing olive oil for close friends and family by pressing small batches in a hand mill back in the day. Today, Lucero’s local award-winning olive oils and balsamic vinegars are available to not only the family’s close friends and relatives, but to Nugget guests, too.
