Crème Brûlée French Toast Soufflé

Ingredients
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1¼ cups whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 slices artisan bread
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons powdered sugar
- 1 cup fresh mixed berries
Preparation
Preheat oven to 450°F.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar. Add whipping cream, cinnamon, and vanilla extract and mix well. Soak bread slices in mixture until custard is well absorbed.
While bread is soaking, melt butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Place soaked bread gently into skillet and sear for 2–3 minutes, until lightly browned.
Gently flip browned slices and place into preheated oven. Bake 3–4 minutes, or until puffy and golden brown.
Top with maple syrup, powdered sugar, and fresh berries. Serve immediately.
