This is sushi the kids are sure to love. Made with favorites like peanut butter, fruit and honey, this recipe puts a fun twist on a classic. It's a great hands-on snack time activity that turns your kids into "sous-shi" chefs! Who says you shouldn't play with your food?
Ingredients
Nuts for Banana Roll:
- 1 slice of white bread (crusts removed)
- 2 tablespoons chocolate hazelnut spread
- 4 thin slices of banana
Honey Pear Blossom Roll:
- 1 slice of white bread (crusts removed)
- 2 tablespoons whipped cream cheese
- 3 thin pear slices
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 6 sliced almonds
Apple Cinnamon Roll:
- 1 slice of white bread (crusts removed)
- 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
- 3 apple slices, julienned
- Dash of cinnamon
- Dash of cinnamon and sugar, for garnish
Mango Chili Lime Roll:
- 1 slice of white bread (crusts removed)
- 2 tablespoons marshmallow cream
- 4 slices mango, julienned
- ½ teaspoon Tajín seasoning
Preparation
Remove crust from each slice of bread, then gently compress with a rolling pin to make bread more pliable. On the bread, evenly distribute the spread for the roll of your choice. Place the remaining ingredients in the bottom half of the bread and roll up slowly, pressing firmly so the bread sticks together, holding the roll closed. Slice the roll into fourths, then sprinkle with appropriate garnish.
