In its simplest form, this breakfast staple consists of bagels, cream cheese, and lox. For extra flair, choose different flavors of bagels and cream cheese, then top it off with your favorite veggies.
Ingredients
- 2 bagels, halved
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 4–8 ounces lox
- 2–4 ounces sliced cucumber
- 2–4 ounces sliced avocado
- 2–4 ounces sliced tomato
- 1–2 ounces sliced red onion
- 1–2 ounces sprouts
- 1–2 teaspoons capers
- 1–2 teaspoons chopped fresh dill
Preparation
Toast bagel slices, then spread cream cheese on the cut-side of every bagel slice.
For a full sandwich, layer your desired fillings on the bottom bagel slice, then top with the top slice. For open-face sandwiches, top all bagel slices with slightly fewer toppings for ease of eating.
Serve immediately.
