Bread Pudding

Warm, cozy and endlessly versatile, this bread pudding can be made with any blend of sweet breads. Go all out by serving it with homemade crème anglaise!
Ingredients
- 1 loaf brioche (or other sweet bread), cut into ½-inch cubes
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla paste
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
Preparation
Coat 6 porcelain ramekins (6–8 ounces) with butter, then fill with bread cubes in an even layer.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla paste and cinnamon. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, cover and refrigerate overnight.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Once soaked, bake for 35–45 minutes, until pudding is browned and cooked to an internal temperature of 155°F.
Allow to cool slighlty, then serve with fresh fruit and crème anglaise.
