Nugget Market Implements Checkstand Donation Program for Haiti Earthquate Emergency Aid
Woodland, Calif. - Starting Wednesday, January 20 through Tuesday, February 2, all Nugget Markets and the Woodland, Cameron Park, and Vallejo Food 4 Less stores will be accepting monetary donations at the checkstands for the American Red Cross’s efforts to provide relief, aid, and supplies to earthquake victims in Haiti.
"The Stille family and our Nugget Market and Food 4 Less family of associates partner with our guests and the world to provide help during this devastating crisis in Haiti,” says Eric Stille, CEO of Nugget Markets, Inc. “This situation becomes more dire every hour, and we’re committed to alleviating the effects of this catastrophe.”
While paying for their groceries at the checkstands, guests are invited to donate any amount to the relief program, and that tax-deductible dollar amount will be recorded on the sales receipt. In addition to donations received at the checkstands, Nugget Markets, Inc. will donate a matching contribution of $5,000 to the American Red Cross for the Haiti earthquake relief efforts.
Family owned and operated, Nugget Market first opened its doors in 1926, and the company has maintained a solid dedication to community and to helping those in need ever since. For more information on the American Red Cross and the Haiti earthquake relief effort, visit www.redcross.org.
