Unitrans and Nugget Markets partner to host “Stuff a Bus” Holiday Food Drive, benefiting the Yolo County Food Bank and UC Davis Food Pantry
Davis, California – (November 28, 2017) As the holiday season approaches, Unitrans and Nugget Markets are proud to host a “Stuff a Bus” holiday food drive to support the Yolo County Food Bank and UC Davis Food Pantry. A vintage Unitrans London double decker bus will be on display and receiving community food donations Saturday, December 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Nugget Markets located at 1414 E. Covell Blvd. in Davis.
Children and adults alike are welcome to enjoy the view from the top deck as they drop off their food donations. Donors will also be invited to spin the wheel to win a prize provided by Unitrans and Nugget Markets. Plus, the first 50 donors will receive a free Nugget Markets canvas bag along with a free 10-ride Unitrans ticket.
All donations received will be delivered to the Yolo County Food Bank and the UC Davis Food Pantry to assist those in need in our local communities. Needed foods include canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned meat, low-sugar cereal, peanut butter, whole grain pasta, rice, canned or dry beans, 100% fruit juice and shelf-stable milk.
Unitrans, the public transit service for the City of Davis and UC Davis, operates the red double decker buses and has served the Davis community for almost 50 years. Nugget Markets, a family-owned-and-operated grocery store with roots in Yolo County, has provided high-quality, local, organic, specialty and conventional goods to the Davis community since 2000.
