The winter squash harvest begins in early fall, and during this time, Mother Nature does not disappoint. The varieties, shapes and flavors are numerous, and several local farms harvest squash all winter long.
More than a diet craze, gluten–free eating is mainstream among those looking to improve their health. Ah, the ever so tiny and tempting dried kiwi fruit. We’re happy to introduce this bite–sized morsel as one of the newest additions to our bulk foods department. These dried kiwis are pealed, sliced, dehydrated and then given a small amount of sugar to offset their natural sourness—in other words, enjoy this tantalizing fruit without all the labor that usually goes into its preparation!
For our guests who are gluten intolerant or who prefer to consume a gluten–free diet, Bard’s Gold American Lager provides an excellent gluten–free beer option. Brewed in Missouri, this refreshing and flavorful beer contains no wheat, barley, rye or oats, and we love that it boasts fuller flavor and richer aromas than other gluten–free beers.
As summer approaches, nothing sounds better to me than cooking up a homemade, well–seasoned burger on my backyard grill. In our meat departments, we use our Fresh to Market signature seasonings, hand mixed with our 85 percent lean ground beef, to create delicious, hand–shaped burgers. Our most popular flavor is our Garlic and Pepper Seasoned Burger, a tasty patty that is gluten free and packed with flavor in every bite.
