Sue Conley and Peggy Smith, two longtime friends and true foodies, founded Cowgirl Creamery in the early 1990s. Looking for a new adventure, they began making cheese in a restored barn in the quaint coastal town of Point Reyes Station in Marin County.

Moonshine has recently been gaining in appeal, and we’re happy to offer this popular (and completely legal) moonshine on our shelves. The recipe for Midnight Moon was created by the legendary Junior Johnson, a Hall of Fame NASCAR racecar driver. Come try the newest addition to our artisan bread baking program: whole–wheat sourdough! These loaves are baked fresh daily in our bakeries, by the artisan bread bakers who work in our stores. We don’t use any preservatives or shelf stabilizers in our whole–wheat sourdough (or in any of our breads), so you can be sure it’s super–fresh, as well as being healthy, made with great whole grains!
Be on the lookout for local, organically grown spring onions, which crop up in our produce department this time of year. Several local farms will be up to their elbows in them soon: Terra Firma and Full Belly farms are two of our favorite growers of red and white spring onions in Yolo County. Spring onions are essentially immature onions that haven’t fully developed.
