What exactly is FishWise? Put simply, this handy labeling system exists to help our guests make informed decisions about what seafood to buy, based on their own values.
At Nugget Markets, we’re proud to offer some of the finest restaurant-quality seafood available. And in addition to our quality, one thing that sets our seafood department apart is our use of the FishWise labeling program, which allows our guests to select seafood based on sustainability.
As part of our commitment to environmental responsibility, Nugget Markets is engaged in an ongoing partnership with FishWise, a sustainable seafood non-profit based in Santa Cruz, California. We are excited to announce that this year Greenpeace USA has given our stores a rank of 83 on their annual sustainable seafood report.
FishWise is a non-profit, science based, sustainable seafood labeling program. It gives our guests the necessary tools for making informed choices based on their own values.
