Extraordinary Sustainability: Earth Month Celebrations!

Green is our favorite color, which makes Earth Month the perfect time to celebrate! From in-store events to an Earth Day Giveaway, a sustainable Secret Special and more, we’re going green big time and you can join the fun!

For starters, our Earth Day Giveaway has officially kicked off and runs through the month of April. To enter for your chance to win, simply stop by your local Nugget Markets, write your earth-friendly pledge on the entry form and drop it in the ballot box. Winners will be selected weekly, and each one will receive a $10 Nugget Markets gold coin and their choice of either a reusable utensil, a set of reusable metal straws or a Nugget Markets reusable bag.

In honor of Earth Month, our team at Nugget Markets is also pledging all sorts of sustainable actions! Last year, 500 of our amazing associates pledged to be greener in their everyday practices, and this year, we hope to double that number. Not only does this help take care of our Earth, but it also helps engage our associates and community in a dialogue about taking care of each other and the environment.

Along with great events for our guests, we’re also taking care of our associates with our annual Return to Learn classes. Each associate can select from more than 50 different classes covering a variety of topics, which they can then attend paid! New this year, our sustainability coordinator will be teaching a class on Building a Sustainable Meal which will break down the food system and take a look at what it really means to be “farm to fork.” Want to learn about building a sustainable meal, too?
