Set the stage for your romantic reading with a bottle of the good stuff. Take it from our adult beverage pros—no romantic dinner (or book club) should start without sparkling wine or end without port wine and chocolate. That said, here are a few tantalizing selections you’re sure to love.
Scarpetta Prosecco: This sparkling wine from Italy has delicate peach and pear flavors, along with light carbonation and a touch of sweetness that make it a fun, easy-sipping wine.
Warre’s Warrior Port: Classic crushed blackberry fruits with notes of licorice and milk chocolate are the hallmarks of this port, which is from one of the best producers in all of Portugal.
Moonstruck Chocolates: If you’re starting your book before Valentine’s Day, now’s your chance to pick up an elegant box of Moonstruck Chocolate Truffles. If life is like this box of artisan chocolates, it sure is good!
Now that you’ve got your sensational sips and sweets, it’s time to read! Like a little time travel with your romance? Try the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon or The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. For something closer to home, there’s also Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding, P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern or pretty much anything by Nicholas Sparks. If you’re just not into love stories, there are also plenty of nonfiction books about romance and attraction like The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman or Decoding Love by Andrew Trees. For even more reading inspiration, visit your local library or bookstore.
