California Olive Ranch Arbequina (Best of Class EVOO – Single Variety Medium Arbequina): This extra virgin olive oil is fresh and fruity with flavors of tropical fruit and fresh artichoke. It’s made with olives 100% grown and milled in California that are pressed within hours of harvest to lock in the flavor. This natural, unrefined and unfiltered oil is great for dressing salad greens or as part of a garden pesto.
Cobram Estate California Select (Best of California EVOO – Blend Medium): This 100% California blend features Ascolano, Manzanillo, Sevillano and Frantoio olives, which are hand-sorted and crushed within hours of harvest. It is clean on the palate with medium bitterness and aromas of fresh-cut grass and a hint of tropical fruit. This Woodland-based company was founded by two farmers, Rob and Paul, who raised their olive trees from seedlings in their own nursery facilities.
ENZO Olive Oil Organic Bold (Best California EVOO by a Large Producer): From the planting and harvesting to the milling and bottling, ENZO Olive Oil is 100% estate grown in Central San Joaquin Valley under the direction of Patrick and Vincent Ricchiuti. Along with being delicious, ENZO Olive Oil is CCOF and USDA certified organic, kosher certified and a member of the California Olive Oil Council.
McEvoy Ranch Certified Organic Estate (Best Robust Blend – Any Other Cultivar): This California blend features primarily Frantoio and Leccino olives, along with the Pendolino, Maurino, Leccio del Corno and Coratina varieties. It’s grown, harvested, crushed and bottled entirely on the ranch and CCOF certified organic. This greenish gold oil has a grassy, vibrant green olive aroma with notes of artichoke and green tea, some slight bitterness and a peppery finish.
