Green beer seems to be almost synonymous with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, but that’s not the only way to raise a festive glass! While we’re all for going green, we don’t necessarily think your beer needs to. With a variety of true Irish brews (and Irish-inspired options), you can ditch the food coloring and drink like the Irish!

Jameson Caskmates Irish Whiskey: The unique, triple-distilled Irish whiskey is crafted by aging Irish whiskey in barrels used for making Irish stout beer. Rubicon Brewing Irish Red: Irish Red Ales are a mainstay at many American brewpubs, and this one comes to us by way of Rubicon brewery in Sacramento. This lightly malty, easy-drinking beer has roasted notes and hints of caramel sweetness with a just enough hops for a hint of bitterness on the nice dry finish.

Murphy's Stout: Dry bitter stout is the quintessential Irish drink, but it is actually based on porter, a dark English beer imported into Ireland in the 18th century. Irish brewers copied the popular style and made a bigger fuller-bodied, drier version now known as stout. Murphy's is a smooth, creamy beer with roasted chocolate and coffee undertones, and biscuity sweet malt aromas.

Auburn Alehouse Fool's Gold Pale Ale: With an ABV of 7.8%, this massive beer is not your ordinary pale ale. Pale malted barley infused with a ton of Pacific Northwest hops sets this one apart from others of its kind. In fact, a bottle of this flavorful Fool’s Gold is so good, it might even fool a leprechaun!
