When it comes to celebratory cocktails, the “classics” always come to mind. Classic cocktails are timeless, pure, and full flavored. The Old Fashioned brings together the spicy richness of rye whisky, the subtle sweetness of simple syrup, and the freshness of the oils from the orange peel. Cheers to the classics!
Ingredients
- 1 orange peel
- 1 sugar cube
- 2 ounces rye whiskey
- 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
- 1 maraschino cherry
Preparation
Muddle in a rocks glass the orange slice, sugar cube, rye whiskey and Angostura bitters, top with large ice cubes (to slow dilution) and garnish with a maraschino cherry. You can also add a splash of soda water to tone down this drink.
